I feel like AR does more damage then smash. I like AR too, but I just don't like the limited ammo on it, that's all. Though that doesn't stop me from using it.

Both weapons are stupid. They are both luck based weapons, so if you want to gamble go on ahead and use either of them. I just got shot for 51 dmg from assault from the front pen v pen. You would deal more dmg with smgs in close range anyway. And yeah assault isnt actually precise gauss is more precise than that, whats precise about it is that you have a large hitbox that you can get crits on. Anyway between those 2 smash cause it still remains the most OP weapon, unless you die a lot and dont care for the only downside assault has which is limited ammo.

In single shot assault may do 1.5 times of the smash damage

Actually AR>smash , but ar has limited ammo. After limited ammo AR>everything.
