Observable games!

Postby Seiichiru » Tue Feb 07, 2012 8:12 pm

Oi. o o Y'know I found myself wondering why no one does them. I mean really...What better way to learn from the community and how people play than to join observable matches? They used to show up back when I was new...but now they're like a memory.

Why don't people do them?

Why don't people join them when they are made?

Just curious~. Considering it might do us all some good, ne?

Because people enjoy playing the game rather than just watching. Also, S4 matches aren't the most exciting thing in the world to watch. Also the fact that people can't be bothered to tick observers when they make the rooms.

Rather general statement. o o Personally I enjoy watching matches to see what I can learn from them...I'm sure I'm not the only of my kind.

Dante said it.
People wanna play rather than watch, but now that I think about it I thought when you're on a team. [Like Alpha side watching]
when the match is over, you lose to? Can't remember if it's true or not.
I don't wanna win or lose when I'm just watching. O:

In my rooms, I *ALWAYS* reserve 2/12 spots to the observers, and some people actually end up observing, I wouldn't mind observing matches too if the players in it are decent or I know them.

Your argument is invalid.
No it's not invalid my rooms are potentially the only ones with observers IN THE WHOLE GAME
You fail with Swords? Not anymore!

I would rather fight you myself than watch you play. Not implying that I can actually stand a chance or anything but oh well. You learn more by losing.

I guess I was being general. Let me rephrase myself then: MOST people wants to play rather than watch.

Mind you, I wouldn't really want to observe matches in my free time. They are either not worth watching or just gets plain boring.

I'm not sure why it matters whether you win or lose in this game. You still get the same amount of EXP and PEN (or roughly the same at least).

If you are just watching, you don't get exp/pen btw.

I occasionally make some free spots for observing but you don't see much of these matches.

Well, it does show the win/lose at the end but not sure if it gets counted (i think it doesn't get counted though).

They're too lazy. Another reason would be, that many people just stick to full player rooms. Others might have a reason to limit the whole number of players due to lags/slow performance.

Thanks to the new GUI, you will see rooms with free observers as full if the amount of players has reached its limit. Who will actually bother to look via right klick the details of a "full" room? The only observers joining are mostly those, who failed at first to join the game.

Btw: nice "feature" to make it able to kick vote as an observer.
