S4 League: Summer Design Events

Summer Design Event 2012

 

As the creative events we had last year were such a big hit, we decided to bring them back again! Help us in the hunt for raw creative talent in our beloved game and submit us some of your work. Musicians, artists, photographers and video editors alike – come together and show your full potential. Join us in S4L’s Design events of 2012!

 

Below we have a selection of events that cater for different audiences. You can take part in however many you desire, and use your raw talent to create brilliant masterpieces to share with the community!

 

 

Event 1 – Show us your Music!

We all know S4 League has a breathtaking soundtrack that consists of many great artists. With this, we feel that the music in S4 League really creates the atmosphere when you’re playing and really pushes you to your limits. How would you like to be up there with those top artists and earn your place to share your creative music? Now’s your chance!

Your task: Create a brand-new BGM that fits the style of S4 League. Your masterpiece will then be shared with the community, who can then decide to use it as they play! We're looking for something that fits the S4L atmosphere, such as the current digital tone of the music.

Event 2 – Your S4 League Desktop Wallpaper!

We feel that S4 League is a truly unique game that has a great deal of artwork that stands out from other games. The design of the game creates an atmosphere that really pulls you into the net sphere. The amazing array of loading screens in the past has really made us want more eye-candy to stare at whether playing or not. What better way to do so than making your very own desktop backgrounds celebrating the game to its full glory!

Your task: Create an S4 League desktop background within a computer application with images, artwork, and designs relating to the game. Please use one (or more) of these resolutions for your wallpaper: 1920px x 1200px (16:10), 1920px x 1080px (16:9), 1280px x 720px (16:9), 1024px x 768px (4:3)

Event 3 – Your S4L Olympic Dream Team!
With the London Olympic Games just around the corner, what better way to celebrate the occasion with an event in its favour? A lot of us enjoy representing our countries, and the Olympics is a prime time we like to show who's boss and get competitive! With the launch of the Olympics, one of the biggest aspects that goes under a lot of thought is the design of the outfits the athletes will wear to present the pride of their country. What better idea, than to bring this into the S4 League virtual world also.

Your task: You must design (drawing or digital) a group posing picture of 4~5 S4 League characters. These characters must have a outfit(s) relating to a country presented in alaplaya. Do you wish to do your country proud - present your ideas today! How would you OLYMPIC DREAM TEAM look? 

The countries that are advertised in alaplaya will be used for this. These include:-
• United Kingdom
• United States
• Canada
• Germany
• Spain
• France
• Italy
• Turkey
• Portugal
• Russia
• Poland
• Netherlands

We really wanted to show you an example of what we're after with this event. Our kind S4 GM CloudStrife07 / -Rocket helped us with a simple example drawing for the country of Canada! Of course, this is a very basic attempt that lacks colour and set creation. But nonetheless this is what we're after with a bit more depth!

Requirements:-
-Drawn by paper and scanned into computer or drawn digitally.
-Must be related to one of the countries above. (State which).
-Must have 4~5 S4 styled characters within the drawing.
-You have the choice to add weapons - it would look more awesome!
-Must have a unique design you made yourself. (No Copyright logos or images added)
-Must keep in line with the alaplaya ToS and CoC.
-Has to be coloured in.

Rewards: (Gifted Items In S4L)

A winner will be selected from each country to win a 30-DAY set from the in-game shop.
Then the 3 best designs overall (from 3 different countries) will win AP prizes + the 30-day SET gifted from the shop.

Event 4 - Weekly Video Design Contest

We're not forgetting the keen video editors either this year. There are a lot of excellent video editors out there that never got the recognition and reward for their hard editing work when creating fantastic S4L videos. Due to this, we have decided to host a weekly video contest to praise you hard workers. Each week we'll be giving out PEN prizes to the top videos posted in our forum thread:

1st Place 250,000 PEN
2nd Place 200,000 PEN
3rd Place 150,000 PEN

Event 5 - I LOVE S4 League

Summer is hot, and the sun is shining. What better time for fans of S4 League than to get out there and spread the love for the game! The netsphere is calling out for everyone on vacation to spread the word in the real world as far as they can possibly manage! Here marks the return of the 'I <3 S4 League' Event from last years summer. Bring on the fans, as it's about to get hot hot hot!

Last year we had an event where we asked you to take photographs of yourself in front of monuments, while on holiday with a home-made 'I <3 S4L card'. Due to loving all the creative submissions, we want to crank it up a notch to allow EVEN MORE creativity amongst our player base.

Guidelines:

·         By entering a design in the contest, players represent that the work submitted is their own creation, and that the work does not infringe on the copyright of any party!

·         The work must be completely original and designed this summer.

·         The Eventie members reserve the right to request proof of the authenticity/originality of your piece. Please keep the original PSDs or artwork intact so that you can prove this is an original creation.

·         Each participant must post their work themselves.

·         Please insure all of the images are within the rules and regulations of the company and that they don't include anything of sexual nature, discrimination or could cause offence to anyone.

·         The alaplaya event team have the right to alter any part of the design events, in the best interest of the participants.

Please note: These events are just for fun, none of them will be implemented into the game whatsoever. Though, they could give ideas for the future.
